Biography

Oluyemisi (‘Yemisi) Ogunjimi is a Canadian who was born in Nigeria, West Africa. ‘Yemisi is a songwriter, recording artist/ vocalist, a true worshiper, and a minister of the gospel. She has been actively involved in gospel music since the age of 13. She is definitely blessed with a unique voice and she has an ability to connect with her listeners through her songs. Yemisi’s strength is in her passionate and emotion-packed renditions that surely minister to her audience and leaves them craving for more.

Her intention is to encourage fellow Christians to draw closer to God and never be complacent in their service to Him. She also makes sure that in her renditions, she ministers to the non-Christians so as to win them to the Lord and to let them know that it is only in Jesus that they can find peace that passes all understanding. Above all, she has a heart for worship for the King of kings.

Her music covers lots of genre, inspirational, gospel, contemporary, African, Praise and worship. Her debut CD is titled “I can count on You” and recent EP (Great God), have been great resource of inspiration to a lot of souls. Yemisi worships at Destiny and Dominion Word Ministries, where she is a member and one of the worship leaders. She has been given the opportunities to minister in several countries such as Nigeria, United Kingdom, USA, Trinidad and in many cities across Canada such as Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Greater Toronto Area, Windsor and other cities in Southern Ontario. She has been featured on 100 Huntley Street and many times on the Nite Lite Live Programs on CTS TV. She has also appeared on “The Miracle Channel” and the hour of Divine Wisdom that aired both on the CTSTV and the Vision TV in Canada

Yemisi always delivers more than expected at every opportunity to minister and does this professionally too. Yemisi’s second album titled “You’re Greater” has 10 songs, 9 which were penned by her. The album was nominated for the “Best Gospel Album” Category by Gospel Music Association of Canada (GMA) and some of the songs were nominated by Maranatha Awards USA.

Yemisi is married to Abiodun and blessed with two boys, Eniola and Toluwani.
