Biography

With his electric, stop-you-in-your-tracks-kind-of-harmonies, if music is an artform that uses sound organized in time, then Michael Manhertz has his ear, heart and pulse constrained to the music that connects heaven and earth through worship. With unique melodies and contagious energy, every song hooks listeners into a transformative worship experience through the good news of God’s love. 

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Michael has worked with some of the most influential names in Gospel music including Israel Houghton, Jonathan Nelson, Matthew McIntosh & LIFE Ministries, Todd Dulaney, Kim Burrell, Marvin Winans, Brian Hamilton & Divine Worship, Ruth Dente, Kevin Adams and Voices of Praise, Daniel Ojo, Kimberly Ade and more. Being raised in a Jamaican-Canadian environment sharpened his gift of fusing different melodies and genres into the hard-to-replicate sound found in his 2022 debut album release, The Unashamed Project. 

In 2021, he became the first artist to sign with Psalmist Records and in 2022, in addition to participating in the Christian Music Mentor Writing Retreat in Nashville, Tennessee was nominated for the 'Collaboration of the Year' GMA Covenant Award. In 2023, he became a coach at Christian Music Mentor to help provide mentorship to Christian artists, worship leaders, singers, songwriters and producers from around the world.

Michael’s debut album, The Unashamed Project, was also released in 2022 and is available on all streaming platforms
