Rachelle Luk
Biography
Rachelle Luk (pronounced “Ra-SHELL Luke”) is a Covenant Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and worship leader in the Greater Toronto Area. Infusing intelligence and honesty into profoundly relatable Christian music, she isn’t afraid to explore a wide range of emotion and experience to tell the fuller story of living as a follower of Jesus.
This emotional depth and expressive range is apparent on Even Now, her first full-length album, released in June 2021 and produced by Juno nominees, Drew Brown and Steve Lensink. Touching multiple genres, including pop, R&B/soul, folk, and contemporary worship music, this crowdfunded project showcases Rachelle’s soulful voice, insightful lyrics, and musical versatility, not only as a singer but also as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and arranger.
Even Now follows her 2014 debut EP, Brought to Life, which received two GMA Covenant Awards: “More Than Beautiful”, winner of Urban/R&B/Soul Song of the Year in 2014, and “I Am Not”, which was awarded Inspirational Song of the Year in 2015. In 2017, her single “How To Live”, recorded with Drew Brown, earned Covenant Award nominations for Folk Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.
Rachelle’s music has received airplay on Christian radio stations across Canada, and several of her original worship songs are being sung by congregations of local churches. She joyfully serves as Director of Worship at Mississauga City Baptist Church, and is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, where she studied classical voice.
