Verse 1 Weary Traveller, the sun is high and your steps are getting heavy You’re Looking down, and the sadness in your eyes is very telling One foot in front of the other, you keep going Chorus: But you’re carrying a backpack full of things you can’t control Walking next to you, I feel the burden of your load The weight of it is crushing you, it’s too much on your own So lay it down. Take my hand, you’re not alone Verse 2 Weary Traveller, The long and dusty-road seems never-ending There’s miles to go, and the journey you are on is overwhelming One foot in front of the other; you keep moving Chorus: But you’re carrying a backpack full of things you can’t control Walking next to you, I feel the burden of your load The weight of it is crushing you, it’s too much on your own So lay it down. take my hand, you’re not alone Bridge Oh oh oh - You’re not alone Oh oh oh - I’ll lead you home Verse 3 Weary Traveller, You may not know how deeply you are loved Your life is precious And I will finish all the work that I’ve begun One foot in front of the other into freedom Chorus: But you’re carrying a backpack full of things you can’t control Walking next to you, I feel the burden of your load The weight of it is crushing you, it’s too much on your own So lay it down. Take my hand, you’re not alone Bridge Oh oh oh - You’re not alone Oh oh oh - I’ll lead you home
Biography
My name is Suzanne Vaartstra (pronounced: 'vart - strah') and I'm a singer/songwriter from Edmonton, AB, Canada (currently living in St. Albert, AB).
I love the contemporary sound with jazz/folk influences mixed in. I also love writing, creating, and listening to music that moves my heart and reaches those deep places in our souls.
Here's a little bit about my musical journey:
I have been playing piano for over 45 years now. (since I was just a wee girl!)
I was classically trained for many years and then attended the Jazz Music program at Grant MacEwan College (GMCC) in Edmonton, AB with a major in both Music Composition and Recording Arts... [more]
