Verse 1 Today I stopped myself and turned around To see how far I’d come ‘Cause I’ve been pushing so hard against the wind and the rain I’ve forgotten all the ground I’ve gained" Chorus 1: ‘Cause now my heart is much softer but my soul is steady strong And my body’s slowly healing from a life that’s been undone And when I see how far I’ve come On this journey of my life - oh God was with me every minute and He will never leave my side Verse 2 I’m learning how to take change as it comes And step into the new And I’ll leave what’s behind so I can freely run the race Pressing on, I’ll run into His arms Chorus 1: ‘Cause now my heart is much softer but my soul is steady strong And my body’s slowly healing from a life that’s been undone And when I see how far I’ve come On this journey of my life - oh God was with me every minute and He will never leave my side Bridge: So be mindful of the moment And take time to smile and laugh And turn your praises to the One Who holds you in His hand Chorus 2: Then your heart will be softer but and your soul steady strong And your body will start healing from a life that’s been undone And when you see how far you’ve come On this journey of your life, oh God was with you every minute God was with you every minute He was with you every minute Yes, God was with you every minute and He will never leave your side
Biography
My name is Suzanne Vaartstra (pronounced: 'vart - strah') and I'm a singer/songwriter from Edmonton, AB, Canada (currently living in St. Albert, AB).
I love the contemporary sound with jazz/folk influences mixed in. I also love writing, creating, and listening to music that moves my heart and reaches those deep places in our souls.
Here's a little bit about my musical journey:
I have been playing piano for over 45 years now. (since I was just a wee girl!)
I was classically trained for many years and then attended the Jazz Music program at Grant MacEwan College (GMCC) in Edmonton, AB with a major in both Music Composition and Recording Arts... [more]
