Lyrics

Featuring Jamie Hiscox

I want to tell you this:
While those who will inherit
Their fathers’ property
While they are children still,
They are no different from slaves.

It does not matter if
It does not matter if
The children own everything.
While they are children, they
They must obey those who are chosen to care for them.

But when the children reach the age
Set by their fathers, they are free.
It is the same for us.
We were once like children,
Slaves to the useless rules
Of this world.

But when the right time came,
God sent his Son
Who was born of a woman
And lived under the law.
God did this so he
Could buy freedom for those
Who were under the law
And so we could become his children.

Biography

I've been making music and writing songs since I was old enough to reach the piano. I now am a multi-instrumentalist and arranger, with experience arranging for every size of group: from small bands to orchestras.

Married in 1994, I began taking jobs as a worship pastor, arranging and directing bands for contemporary and "seeker-targeted" churches in Saskatoon, New Jersey, Kingston, and Hamilton. I currently lead worship at Harrowsmith Free Methodist Church in Harrowsmith, Ontario.

While serving as a contemporary church planter and music director for an Anglican congregation, I began putting liturgy and scripture to music in 2012... [more]
